Jack began his career with MacLeod Dixon, where he practised for 45 years in the areas of commercial litigation, regulatory, arbitration and mediation with a particular focus on disputes in the energy and resource industries including oil & gas, electricity and mining together with corporate/commercial, construction and securities matters.
When the firm merged with Norton Rose in 2012, Jack began his practice as an independent arbitrator and mediator. Since that time, he has been involved in many administered and ad hoc arbitrations in seven Canadian provinces and internationally throughout the United States (San Francisco, Houston, New York, Ft. Lauderdale and Palm Springs) as well as Switzerland, Sweden, Venezuela and Argentina.
Jack is a past member of the American College of Trial Lawyers and on the arbitration rosters of LCIA, CPR Institute, ICDR, ICC Canada, the Canadian Transportation Agency and the Ontario IESO. He was a founder of Canadian Foundation for Dispute Resolution (now ADRIC) and Western Canada Commercial Arbitration Society (WCCAS). He is an original member of Western Arbitration Chambers (formerly Calgary Energy & Commercial Arbitrators (CECA)).
